Chapter Eight

The next morning I lay in bed, remembering the events of the night before. Justin had surprised me. This normally wouldn't have happened. Normally I would have done my research; I would have known what he wanted. However, his was far from a normal situation. I got out of bed and pulled the blinds opened. Sunlight filtered through the windows, illuminating the room and warming the air. I thought of the pool, a refreshing swim was just what I needed. I showered and changed into a bathing suit, being sure not to pick the baby blue one. I grabbed a robe and a towel and headed toward the pool. I had almost made it to my destination when I heard my name being called. I turned to find that it was Johnny trying to get my attention. I spun myself around to face him.

"Blake, sorry to bother you but I wanted to talk to you."

"No problem, boss," I answered my tone joking.

"Okay, enough of that. I'm no more your boss then you are mine. We both work for them. Now that that's settle, we can discuss what I wanted to talk to you about."

"Sorry, go ahead."

"It's about tonight. Lance has a girlfriend. They have been going out for quite sometime and he wouldn't feel comfortable being with you. I am sure that you can understand, so you will have the night off. I hope that this doesn't present a problem.

"No, it's not a problem and yeah I understand. I'm glad that he takes his commitment to his girlfriend seriously." I countered.

"Well, as you will find though it isn't for me to tell you most of the guys have girlfriends, just some of them have relationships that allow them to do whatever they please." Johnny stated, trying his best not to reveal secrets that weren't his to share.

"Okay, well whatever." I stated trying my best not to pry.

"Well, I'm glad that that is settled. Would you like to join me for breakfast?" The question was casual, offered in the friendliest manner.

"Not this morning," I replied. "I'm heading to the pool, and then thought that I would just grab some toast."

"Suit yourself," with his final words he disappeared into the depths of the house.

Left alone I began to think. A girlfriend, my mind questioned. The thought of any of them having a girlfriend hadn't entered my mind. The further fact that some of them didn't care that they had a girlfriend and would still utilize my services bothered me just a little bit, but that wasn't my concern. It wasn't my job to make sure that they honored their commitments. It was only my job to bring them pleasure. I was curious as to who the other members with girlfriends were, but I didn't let my mind mull over this point for too long. I would find out soon enough.

As I came approached my final destination, I realized that someone was already in the pool. Hoping that it wasn't Justin, I walked closer toward the edge. Suddenly with a splash, I saw Lance come up from the watery depths. A smile adorned his face.

"Good morning, Blake, how are you?" Lance greeted me. With the exception of our short introduction in the studio the day before this was the only time I had spoken with Lance. He spoke with a slight southern draw and his mouth slanted as he uttered the words.

"I'm doing well, and you?" I replied as I lowered myself into one of the lounge chairs allowing my skin to absorb the sun.

"Everything's going great," he said with a smile as he exited the pool and grabbed a towel. I sat watching him, taking this opportunity to really look at him. His hair was blonde, almost white. It lay matted to his head, weighted down by the water from the pool. His eyes were sea green; they were the greenest eyes I have ever seen. The sunrays reflecting off of the water played in them. Lance was nicely built, though no could ever tell by his choice of clothes. His arms were tone and his abdomen firm. The muscles in his legs were well defined. Lance was the type of man that the girls wouldn't notice right away, but this was his manner. He seemed to me then and still does now to be the type that enjoys being in the background. Girls would probably be interested in one of the other guys first. But one look into Lance's eyes and one sound of his deep voice radiating in their ears and he would have them drawn in. At least that's what it was like for me. Lance was also one of the nicest members of the group. He reminded me of apple pie, an All-American boy. Joey and him seemed to me to be the most down to earth out of all of them.

"So what are your plans for the day?" The question pulled me from my thoughts. I hadn't noticed that Lance had sat down in the chair next to me.

"Oh, sorry. I was just thinking."

"It must have been some really deep thought. I asked three times. I thought that you might have been ignoring me."

"No, not at all. I really don't have any plans for the day, and I have tonight off, so I might just go out and see Orlando. I really haven't had the chance to do that."

"Yeah, about tonight..."his words trailed off.

"Hey, don't worry about it. I understand. I'm here to do what you guys what and if you don't want me to do anything, well then no problem."

He smiled and turned his head. I could see his face turn light red as he blushed. I smiled as well.

"Well, if you don't have anything planned, Joey, Jenn and I are going to hang out today after rehearsals, you could join us. We would be delighted to show you around Orlando."

"Wow, that's a great offer. How could I refuse?" I answered, a smile playing on my lips.

"Good," Lance replied, "then I'll meet you after rehearsal. I have to get in the shower and get ready, don't want to be late."

"Yeah, I heard that JC can be a real pain in the ass if you're late."

"I wonder who told you that, Chris or Justin?" Lance asked the question rhetorically, his tone changed as he thought about one of those two talking badly about JC.

"They are the only two that could say that, because they are the ones that are always late, " he continued, "besides, JC is right, they waste all of our time with their shenanigans."

"You're right, it was Justin. I'll see you after rehearsal."

With my final words Lance departed. I watched him go, thinking back to our conversation. I concluded that I really liked him. He was friendly and down to earth. So out of the five of them, there was one that I knew I liked one that I knew I didn't like two that I would probably like, and the fifth was a mystery. Saturday was only four days away.
